HIV Partner Counseling & Referral Services (PCRS)
HIV Partner Counseling & Referral Services (PCRS)
We know talking to partners about HIV is not easy. If you have received an HIV positive test result and want help telling your partner(s), PCRS can help you.
Will my name be used?
Your name will not be used. Confidentiality and anonymity are maintained throughout the process. This means that we will never disclose any information about you to any of the partners you want our HIV PCRS counselor to notify.
How does HIV PCRS work?
Confirmation of an HIV positive result is required. With your consent, PCRS can help you tell your partner(s) that they have been exposed to HIV. Confidentiality is maintained throughout the process.
It’s your choice!
If you choose to talk with an HIV PCRS counselor, they can help you with one or more of the following options:
- The counselor can tell your partner(s)
- The counselor can be with you when you tell your partner(s)
- The counselor can advise you about how to tell your partner(s).
Why do my partners need to know?
- They can learn how to protect themselves and others from HIV infection.
- They will have a chance to be counseled and tested for HIV at no cost.
- They can make informed decisions about their health care.
- If they are infected, they can be referred to medical care.
Let PCRS help you.
HIV PCRS is a free, voluntary and confidential service. PCRS is sensitive to your needs.
